2-4yo Toddlers Workshop "An Earthworm's Expedition!"

We explore soil and compost and discover that soil is indeed, alive! How do sun, water, and nutrients help plants and trees grow? Through interactive sensory activities, the children will touch, smell, and even paint with soil. We will learn about compost by becoming little earthworms, playing games to distinguish organic from artificial materials, and name parts of our favorite snacks. Finally, we explore soil as a living ecosystem by drawing our own bugs and worms. Each child will take home a plant to care for.

5-9yo Kids Workshop "Green Cities"

11:15 - 12:15 PM, hosted at Botanica Coffee Truck

A playful workshop imagining solarpunk futures. Through hands-on activities, children explore how urban planning can support healthier cities. Combining imagination, STEM activities, and basic architectural thinking, we learn about green spaces and how sustainability, technology, and modern life can work together. We experiment with soil to see how healthy earth filters groundwater.

Children build their own green city models inspired by real solutions: community gardens, micro parks, composting, biogas, green roofs, rainwater collection, and reducing car use to expand green areas. We will also create seed bombs and explore guerrilla gardening - how can public spaces become thriving ecosystems that feel like they belong to us? Children take home their models and seed bombs to plant pollinator-friendly flowers, and we formulate simple messages to city leaders from the perspective of the environment.
