Introduction

At The Language Playground, we place the highest importance on protecting the personal data of all our participants. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and
applicable Czech legislation.

Types of Personal Data Collected

• Children: Name, date of birth, course and activity enrollment details, participation in supervised play, photos/videos (withexplicit consent of a legal guardian).

• Adults: Name, email address, phone number, billing information, course registration details, photos/videos (with consent).

• Parents/Guardians of children attending supervised play: Name, contact information for communication during adult classes.

We do not process any special category (sensitive) personal data. If such information is provided directly by a specialist during a consultation, we do not act as the data controller, do not store such data, and are not responsible for its processing.

Purpose of Data Processing

• Course registration and management.

• Payment processing via the Wix payment gateway.

• Communication regarding schedules, changes, and essential updates.

• Marketing and promotion (photos, videos, newsletters — only with consent).

• Compliance with legal obligations.

Legal Bases for Processing

• Performance of a contract.

• Consent (may be withdrawn at any time).

• Legal obligation.

• Legitimate interest; we also conduct a balancing test to ensure rights are not overridden.

Data Retention

• Registration and payment data: duration of service + 10 years.

• Photos and videos: until consent is withdrawn.

• Class records and attendance: 3 years.

• Newsletter: until consent is withdrawn.

Data Sharing and Transfers

• Wix: For class registration and payment processing (DPA).

• Social Media Platforms: For promotional posts (Facebook, Instagram), with consent.

 

If any data is transferred outside the EU (e.g., Wix or social media servers), we ensure GDPR-compliant agreements are in place.

Data Security

• Secure storage of paper forms in locked cabinets.

• Password-protected databases and restricted access to electronic data.

• Limited access to staff who require the data to perform their duties.

Rights of Data Subjects

• Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability.
