2-4yo Toddlers' Forest Art Workshop

What kind of art would the Lorax make? A sustainable sensory workshop all about messy creativity and art, using nothing but natural materials! Let's celebrate summer with plenty of hands-on experiences, discovering what textures and pigments in nature offer us. We will explore print-making, mosaics, and brushes made of foraged bits, and paint with fruit and vegetable juices, while we learn vocabulary connected to the natural world and observe the shapes and colors of plants.

The workshop introduces open-ended sensory play with collected materials from nature - showing parents how a market visit, walk in the park, or short hike can help create a collection of found objects for open-ended play. You can bring home your own collection after the workshop, as well as a small mosaic or flag.

5-9yo Kids' Green Cities Workshop

11:15 - 12:15 PM, hosted at Botanica Coffee Truck

A playful workshop imagining solarpunk futures. Through hands-on activities, children explore how urban planning can support healthier cities. Combining imagination, STEM activities, and basic architectural thinking, we learn about green spaces and how sustainability, technology, and modern life can work together. We experiment with soil to see how healthy earth filters groundwater.

Children build their own green city models inspired by real solutions: community gardens, micro parks, composting, biogas, green roofs, rainwater collection, and reducing car use to expand green areas. We will also create seed bombs and explore guerrilla gardening - how can public spaces become thriving ecosystems that feel like they belong to us? Children take home their models and seed bombs to plant pollinator-friendly flowers, and we formulate simple messages to city leaders from the perspective of the environment.
